After much speculation, Formula One’s newest team finally released their driver lineup for their inaugural season.

Cadillac Formula 1 Team announced today that veteran drivers Sergio “Checo” Pérez (right) and Valtteri Bottas (left) will be pairing up in 2026. The two drivers have been linked to the American team since its addition to Formula One was announced in November of 2024.

The decision to go with a duo of highly experienced drivers could prove fruitful for Cadillac. Still, questions circulate about the state of these drivers’ ability as both Pérez’s and Bottas’ have been on hiatus in 2025.

Pérez joins the team having raced over 280+ grand prix with five teams over his 13-year F1 career. Before being canned from Red Bull Racing in 2024, Checo was a solid teammate next to superstar Max Verstappen. After picking up his maiden victory with Racing Point in 2020, his Red Bull career saw him pick up five more victories over four years. However, after a season of inconsistency that led to a measly 8th place finish in the Drivers’ Championship in 2024 it was time for a change. The Mexican drivers’ lackluster 2024, along with Red Bull's lack of success in 2025, has left fans debating whether his form has taken a hit or if his poor performances were a product of Redbull’s decline.

Beside him in the paddock will be former Mercedes star Valtteri Bottas. The Finnish driver was let go from Stake in 2024 after spending three forgettable years with the Swiss outfit. In 2025 he returned to Mercedes but only under a reserve driver role. Valtteri boasts over 245+ grand prix entries over his 11-year career. He achieved his first grand prix victory with Mercedes in 2017 on the way to a total ten wins in his five years with the team. Also, as teammate to the legendary Lewis Hamilton, Bottas helped the German juggernauts to five straight Constructors’ Championships. After years of success, his lackluster Stake stint from 2021 to 2024 left fans questioning whether his hunger to win has faded.

Formula One in 2026 is already building to be a season of surprises. With new regulations already set to take place, Cadillac’s addition, along with two well respected drivers, is sure to shake up the grid.

Can’t wait!
